About The Position

Truist is seeking a Tech & Operations Finance Transformation Leader to partner closely with Technology & Operations leadership and Business Management teams to drive strategic cost transparency, financial maturity, and operational excellence across the organization. This role will play a critical leadership position in shaping and executing the multi year Finance transformation agenda for Tech & Ops, with 2026–2027 priorities heavily focused on cost transparency and financial rigor. The role requires a balance of strategic leadership, hands on execution, executive level communication skills, and strong technical finance acumen. The successful candidate will bring experience leading large scale transformation efforts in Tech enabled environments and be comfortable operating across strategy, structure, process, and tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Ten years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
  • Incumbent must possess the experience and business vision to provide leadership to support to the division manager and Executive leadership.
  • Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes. Ability to build consensus through communication and presentation of factual and relevant information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interpret and communicate financial analysis to business partners in a concise and useful manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound and logical decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP, with specific knowledge of GAAP related to supported LOBs. High proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other basic software products. Financial Modeling experience.

  • Prior management consulting experience (strategy, operations, or finance transformation strongly preferred)
  • Experience implementing or partnering on time‑tracking, cost transparency, or portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity or similar platforms)
  • Experience driving automation or digital finance initiatives
  • Financial services or highly regulated industry background
  • Proven success leading large‑scale finance or operating model transformations
  • Strong understanding of Tech financial concepts including CTB/RTB, TCO, capacity management, capitalization, and cost allocation
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, including the ability to build compelling PowerPoint decks for senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution in complex environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of Change the Bank (CTB) / Run the Bank (RTB) taxonomy and governance in close partnership with Tech & Ops Business Management teams
  • Drive rollout and adoption of Clarity time booking and related capacity, utilization, and demand management processes
  • Design, implement, and operationalize a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model to support application, capability, and portfolio level cost transparency
  • Establish robust benchmarking and cost recovery frameworks to support business accountability and informed investment decisions
  • Own and maintain the Tech & Ops Finance transformation roadmap, aligning quarterly and annual priorities to Truist’s broader Finance and Technology strategies
  • Lead transformation of business as usual finance processes to improve consistency, scalability, controls, and efficiency across forecasting, reporting, funding, and governance
  • Identify and execute process improvement opportunities to reduce manual work, enhance controls, and improve cycle times
  • Partner with FP&A, controllership, and central finance teams to ensure alignment to enterprise standards while meeting Tech specific needs
  • Develop high impact executive level presentations that clearly articulate financial insights, trade offs, progress, and strategic narratives
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior Tech, Ops, and Finance leaders, translating complex data into clear, decision ready insights
  • Lead cross functional working sessions and steer executive level alignment on priorities, governance, and outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, and modern finance tools to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and transparency
  • Partner with Technology and Finance transformation teams to modernize finance tooling and reduce Excel based manual processes
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovative ways of working across the Finance organization
  • Provide targeted financial leadership for a specialized sub-segment.
  • Lead financial reporting and tactical execution aligned with operational goals.
  • Influence financial decisions across functions due to portfolio complexity.
  • Support strategic initiatives, investment cases, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a team, providing coaching, development, and performance oversight.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
