About The Position

Tuknik Government Solutions, LLC Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Tech Writer to support TGS and our government customer at Durham, NC. The Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) project goal is to provide the Agency with better information to manage business decisions, improve best practices and allow better management of the life cycle of IT assets. ITAM will allow the Agency to cut costs, reduce liability exposure, improve software compliance and better match use with contract terms. The long-term objective is capturing and integrating physical, financial, and contractual data that supports the functions needed to manage IT assets effectively and optimize customer’s performance. A critical element of the ITAM project includes the implementation and operational support of the planning, acquisition, delivery, acceptance, and installation of IT assets. The Technical Writer will support this function to create meaningful and accurate documentation, while maintaining documents that accurately convey IT asset management (ITAM) information to Logistical Planning and Inventory Support.

Requirements

  • Preferred Candidate with Associate’s Degree in related field and minimum of three (3) years of experience in this area: IT technical writing experience, able to articulate themselves through both speech and writing, and be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.

  • In support of this task, the contractor using Microsoft Office Suite software shall independently develop various information sources including:

  • Validation Guide(s)
  • Test Plans for life cycle testing
  • Creating libraries, lists, and pages including:
  • Wiki Pages, Web Part Pages, and Dashboard
  • Manage/Monitor Announcements, Calendars, and Discussion Boards
  • Forms (Microsoft Infopath)
  • Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
  • Diagrams and flow charts (Visio software)
  • Convert documents to .PDF files using Adobe software.

  • Ability to create categories and fields
  • Metadata: Assigning Metadata common properties (tags) to files, lists, and libraries
  • Folders: Create, manage, and set permissions
  • Understand, use, and create views

  • Apply logical thinking to assess user requirements
  • Analyze various procedures and recommend documentation to record and explain processes.
  • Analyze various reports and recommend tuning actions to improve the performance of Asset Manager and associated software.
  • Update informational and instructional resources and documentation as requested by the task manager and project managers using various software products, such as Adobe and SnagIt.
  • Add informational and instructional resources and documentation to the designated SharePoint locations using various SharePoint modules and update them as required by task assignments.
  • Participate in ITAM meetings, project meetings, conference calls, and related training.
  • Formulate reports for management.
  • Assist in Asset Management group-training sessions.
  • Design and document business processes for/with users.
  • Assists in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
  • Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
  • Conducts research and ensures the use of proper technical terminology.
  • Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
