About the position

At Sift, we aim to accelerate the advent of next-generation machines, improving our lives on and off the planet. We're at an inflection point where connected machines will enter nearly everything we do. Sift is building data infrastructure underpinning the engineering, manufacturing, and operation of these machines. Our system is inspired by processes and software built at SpaceX for Dragon, Falcon, Starlink, and Starship. We're a fast-growing startup with engineers and operators from SpaceX, Google, Palantir, and Astra, and backed by the best investors in the sector. We're looking for high-performing team members to lay the marketing foundation to support our GTM efforts at Sift. We're hiring a Technical Product Marketing Designer to partner with our go-to-market teams and shape how the world understands Sift. This is not a surface-level branding or styling role. You'll work closely with product marketing, engineers, and leadership to design how our product is explained-crafting visual systems, diagrams, explainers, and content patterns that make complex infrastructure clear to technical buyers in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. You'll define and own our external visual layer-technical content on the website, sales assets, architecture visuals, and storytelling tools. You'll also have access to external design resources for larger projects, but you'll serve as the principal content designer and visual systems architect across our go-to-market initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design the technical layer of our external-facing content: diagrams, system explainers, landing pages, pitch decks, product visuals
  • Translate complex architecture and telemetry workflows into digestible, accurate visual narratives
  • Partner with marketing, product, and engineering to create content that resonates with technical decision-makers
  • Build and maintain scalable visual systems that support clarity and cohesion across all GTM channels
  • Support product storytelling through visual tools that elevate sales, onboarding, and launches
  • Develop reusable templates, frameworks, and content patterns for speed and consistency
  • Ensure content reflects the sophistication and quality of Sift's platform and brand
  • Act as a visual translator-bridging product complexity with design clarity

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in visual design, content design, or technical communication
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or infrastructure-oriented startups preferred
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visual clarity, systems thinking, and technical storytelling
  • Deep familiarity with turning technical input into clear visual output (e.g., diagrams, workflows)
  • Ability to operate independently and lead cross-functional creative projects
  • Proficiency in Figma; bonus if familiar with Webflow, motion design, or front-end implementation
  • Clear communicator-comfortable presenting ideas and rationale to technical and non-technical teams
  • Enthusiasm for technical audiences, complex systems, and visual problem-solving

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, autonomy, or energy
  • Background in system modeling (mechanical, software, or process)
  • Prior work creating developer documentation, architecture explainers, or product walkthroughs
