About The Position

This part-time role offers an opportunity to provide expert editorial support in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. You will review and enhance technical reports and deliverables, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across complex environmental, restoration, and construction projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional writing/editing experience, preferably in technical or government contract settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and professional communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and apply internal style manuals, project-specific guidelines, and corporate deliverable review systems.
  • Ability to complete a timed editorial test as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough editorial reviews of environmental, restoration, and construction reports to ensure clarity, conciseness, and consistency.
  • Verify grammar, spelling, formatting, and logical organization of deliverables.
  • Check tables of contents, appendices, figures, cross-references, acronyms, and citations for accuracy.
  • Review responses to comments and ensure proper incorporation into revised documents.
  • Ensure overall quality and compliance with project-specific guidance, internal style manuals, and deliverable management systems.
  • Communicate effectively with authors, project managers, and editorial leads to address issues, provide guidance, and confirm deadlines.
