About The Position

Nisga'a Tek is looking for a Technical Instructor III (Virtual Instructor/Writer) to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate student education competencies. Ensure that critical tasks and 21st Century Leader Competencies are facilitated in a blended environment and incorporated into the learning activities. The work consists of a variety of processes to include decision-making, problem solving, priority setting (many of which must be carried on simultaneously), analyzing data, developing plans of action, evaluating results, and adapting various methods to course delivery of material and student completion rates.

Requirements

  • Strong virtual facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content.
  • Excellent written communication for manuals, guides, and scripts.
  • Skilled in interactive learning techniques and learner engagement.
  • Ability to analyze training effectiveness and learner feedback.
  • Must be a graduate of the Army Medical Department Advance Leader Course and Senior Leader Course.
  • Graduate of the Army Basic Instructor Course (ABICC) - 8 training days for a total of 80 academic Hours.
  • Graduate of Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC), Intermediate Facilitation Skills Course (IFSC) or the Common Faculty Development Instructor Course.
  • Graduate of the NCOES/Functional course they're instructing and awarded the appropriate SQI or ASI.
  • Graduate of Master Resiliency Training (MRT) Course.
  • Complete Instructor/Facilitator Certification (For DL) (Ref. TRADOC 350-70-3).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a faculty instructor.
  • Experienced in the use of a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Blackboard.
  • Have served at least three years of active Federal service.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Manage distribution and use of materials supplied by lead training site
  • Review LPs/TSPs, PEs, discussion board, homework assignments, videos (usually two days prior to training); observe all practical exercises (PEs) and ensure student interaction during PEs.
  • Maintain an environment conducive to student learning while guiding the learning process for students.
  • Administer student assessment questionnaires and evaluations, evaluate, and treat students fairly and equitably at all times.
  • Manage online/virtual classroom and conduct virtual student counseling.
  • Conduct instruction in a blended/online environment
  • Meet and/or electronically communicate with the Training Specialist/Course Manager and/or Program Manager (whichever is applicable) prior to and upon completion of courses to discuss any other essential course administrative information which may include pre-course meetings, after-hour discussion of course activity or post course evaluations.
  • Ensure that instructional materials/aids, e.g., student handouts, etc., are available before class begins.
  • Prepare for and deliver the course materials as prescribed in the Program of Instruction/Instructor Guide, including content, sequence, timing, audiovisual presentation and instructional methodology.
  • Administer, correct and review quizzes, tests, final exams and assignments, and papers as required for the program and maintain security over all teaching materials, e.g., tests, answer keys, answer sheets, and student grades.
  • Report student discipline problems to the Training Specialist/Course Manager for resident courses, or local site representative for non-resident deliveries as soon as possible
  • Brief students on the end-of-course and long-term evaluation processes and facilitate completion of that process where applicable.
  • Correct student papers and projects, as appropriate; be able to explain the Individual Student Assessment Plan (ISAP) to the students.
  • Provide individual tutoring and counseling, both during and sometimes after the normal class day, for students having difficulties with class materials where appropriate.
  • Provide customer service and technical assistance support to students, in a blended/virtual classroom.
  • Respond to all student emails within 2 hours of receipt unless on weekends and after duty hours where the response will be given within 2 hours on the next duty day.
  • Grade all student assignments within 24 work hours of completion and provide feedback to the student based on the approved grading rubrics.
  • Reset student exams as appropriate within 4 hours of lock-out only.
  • Refer all students' requests for exceptions or academic considerations to Program Manager.
  • Instructor may not use personal email addresses to communicate with students, only the approved distributed learning email box will be used.
  • Be alert to students having difficulty and intercede as appropriate.
