We are seeking an experienced Instructor to support the BNATC Program by designing, developing, and delivering technical training for FAA personnel and associated stakeholders. This role requires deep expertise in electronic systems, with a strong preference for candidates who possess direct, hands-on experience with FAA-supported systems. Ideal candidates are former FAA technicians or instructors (often retired FAA instructors) with direct system knowledge. When direct FAA system experience is not available, candidates must demonstrate substantial technical expertise in electronics maintenance, system design, or technical instruction in closely related disciplines, including military systems comparable to FAA environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electronics, Engineering, Technical Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: FAA technical systems support Electronics maintenance Systems design Technical instruction in closely related disciplines
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with FAA-supported systems strongly preferred.
  • Prior FAA instructor experience highly preferred.
  • Military experience with comparable electronic systems considered highly valuable.
  • Former FAA technician or instructor experience.
  • Experience developing curriculum in a highly regulated technical environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver technical training programs for personnel at all levels.
  • Develop instructional materials including teaching outlines, lesson plans, visual aids, and technical documentation.
  • Determine and implement appropriate instructional methods such as: Individual instruction Group training Lectures Demonstrations Workshops Conferences and technical meetings
  • Develop written and practical examinations to assess learning outcomes.
  • Establish evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, sales, and marketing teams to identify training requirements and obtain technical data.
  • Remain current with advancements in: Learning theory Adult learning principles Motivation theory Emerging instructional technologies and methods
  • Confer with management, employees, and customers to understand operational changes, policy updates, regulatory requirements, and evolving technologies.
  • Support training program planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors engaged in training development or delivery.
  • Familiarity with FAA policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective training content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
