We are seeking a hands-on Technical Leader with deep expertise in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead a team of 6–8 technical engineers while remaining actively engaged in automation, production operations, and reliability engineering. This role combines strong technical execution (“hands-on keyboard”) with team leadership, workload management, and operations excellence. The ideal candidate thrives in fast moving, transaction heavy and high-availability environments, leads by example, and drives reliability, automation and continuous improvement across infrastructure and application platforms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams (6–8 engineers preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI etc.)
  • Containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Monitoring & observability (Datadog, PowerBI, ELK, Splunk etc.)
  • Scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • RDS Aurora PostgreSQL is preferred, with strong SQL scripting skills and the ability to analyze workloads and recommend performance optimizations.
  • Experience with incident management, on-call processes, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems.
  • Strong technical depth with the ability to stay hands-on.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure during incidents.
  • Effective delegation and workload prioritization skills.
  • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement, consolidation and cost avoidance mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications (AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, etc.) are a plus.
  • Experience managing hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Background in high-transaction or customer-facing production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical expert in DevOps and SRE practices.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a secure, and highly available infrastructure.
  • Lead architecture and development decisions across CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, monitoring, and automation.
  • Participate and lead coding, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Drive improvements through observability, performance tuning, and automation.
  • Lead incident response efforts, leverage documented recovery steps, including root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Participate in Post Incident Reviews and implement response improvements.
  • Manage a team of 6–8 DevOps/SRE engineers, ensuring a balanced workload distribution and clear ownership.
  • Prioritize and assign work aligned to business goals, operational risk, and technical debt reduction.
  • Mentor and develop team members’ technical and professional skills.
  • Establish clear delivery expectations and provide regular feedback.
  • Foster a self-starter culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Define and track SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs to ensure system reliability.
  • Improve deployment frequency, change success rates, and mean time to recovery (MTTR).
  • Partner with application development, security, and product teams to ensure reliability and scalability from design through production.
