About The Position

The Technical Leader, Craneless MCU Deployment, will provide critical insights to shape development and lead the validation and global deployment of repair methods and tooling for our Onshore Wind Installation & Services business, with a primary focus on craneless solutions. Partnering closely with Repair Engineering, Deployment, and Regional Operations/Execution teams, this leader will provide technical and implementation guidance to ensure robust designs, standardized field execution, and sustained continuous improvement that delivers the targeted ROI. The role will also lead deployment for new and existing MCU across new and existing processes and capabilities to advance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Installation or Repair Field Engineering experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of MCU craneless development, operations, or field execution experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, which includes international travel and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for craneless MCU solutions; define operations/field/tool center CTQs (critical-to-quality requirements), provide feasibility inputs throughout design, develop validation plans, lead validation and beta periods, and fully operationalize deployment across relevant regions.
  • Lead end-to-end operational deployment, including procurement guidance and logistics planning, resource requirements, maintenance and spare-parts strategies, training development and delivery, and optimized regional operating models.
  • Provide counsel to the GEV execution teams and supply vendors to maximize asset utilization, including routine and emergent service support, spare-parts inventory, regional compliance, and training.
  • Create and lead qualification plans for third-party vendors operating equipment and/or delivering the deployed repair solutions.
  • Provide technical direction as needed—including off-hours remote and on-site support—to resolve uncertainties and emergent issues, ensuring safe, high-quality, standards-compliant execution.
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean efforts for new and existing capabilities, including creation of detailed PSRs, facilitation of Kaizens, and development/deployment of new standards to improve SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
  • Develop new processes and repair solutions and lead their global deployment.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Global Projects & Services (Operations, Tooling Centers, EHS) and Wind Engineering (Repair & Installation Technology, Product Engineering, FPM) for tooling and repair development and deployment.
  • Lead global validation and beta testing of tooling and process solutions in partnership with Repair & Installation Engineering, Platform Leaders, Field Engineering, EHS, etc.; establish validation teams, select sites/locations, manage logistics, TWPs/WDIs, execution, data collection, and reporting.
  • Close out validation findings with clear action plans and drive ongoing improvements based on feedback to meet all CTQs.
  • Define global training requirements and strategy for new tooling/repair products; build curricula and proficiency levels, lead global training sessions, and ensure knowledge transfer for use, handling, and maintenance.
