Role Description GFiber projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a MxU Deployment Manager at GFiber, you lead complex, multidisciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal vendors, customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. The MxU Deployment Manager will work on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, working closely with cross-functional team members to refine and enhance our projects, and deploy new technologies to markets and communities around the globe. You like being on-the-ground, executing complex projects that bring internet access to people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in project/program management, vendor management and managing contractors, quality assurance, schedule commitments, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience successfully managing the full project lifecycle, including contract development, procurement, budgeting, and forecasting, while negotiating with vendors and delivering comprehensive project reporting on costs, status, and risks.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years of experience with fiber network deployments, including experience with constructing new outside and inside plant fiber infrastructure, and 5 years of experience with MDU infrastructure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to design and build scalable construction, installation, and support processes.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills and outstanding organizational, prioritization, operational improvement, and process/workflow development.
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and database management including AutoCAD, ESRI, and/or shape file functionality.
  • Knowledge of network drawings, route maps and scopes of work and analyzing fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage program management functions within the metro to include aspects of project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
  • Partner with diverse internal GFiber teams and external organizations to design and execute operational processes, leveraging sophisticated communication to align objectives, streamline deployment workflows, and deliver a seamless end-to-end build experience.
  • Lead process improvements that yield efficiency and efficacy gains throughout deployment and operations in the market.
  • Manage project budgets, scheduling, planning and contractor resource assignment and track contractor performance including billing against budget and contract.
  • Manage proposals, SOW’s, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles and design review and approvals.
