About The Position

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams. In this role, you will be reponsible of critical network deployment programs, directly managing a team that drives the tactical work. You will guide them in organizing cross-functional projects, ensuring clear ownership, streamlined workflows, and meticulously managed master schedules. Your role demands a technical background in infrastructure, capacity planning, servers, networks, and data center operations, along with excellent communication and presentation skills to influence executive leaders and foster collaboration across all business. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program management.
• 5 years of experience in leadership role with/without direct reports.

Nice To Haves

• 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
• 5 years of experience in management of Network Engineers, or in technical program management delivery teams in a telecom or data centre infrastructure space/environment.
• Experience working in organizational settings (e.g., shared accountability, geographic dispersion, ambiguity, etc.).
• Familiarity with data center, networking, or telecom operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of a team of project managers/engineers responsible for cross-functional coordination, design and oversight of data centre network and capacity growth projects in a given region to deliver on on-time delivery and cycle time goals.
• Hire, coach and develop a team of Network Engineers to meet objectives.
• Work with direct reports and partner teams to set and implement short term and long-term infrastructure delivery strategy for the region.
• Own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
• Deliver effective execution at scale within large, multi-project programs.
• Define and develop cross-team roles, expectations, and responsibilities.
• Drive process development and iterative optimization and manage career development and aid in personal growth of a team of dynamic, driven, network engineers.
