About The Position

Joe Knows Energy is seeking an experienced Technical Reviewer to support gas distribution construction projects in Spring Valley, NY. This role supports field operations by reviewing construction documentation, contractor packages, as-built records, and billing submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with utility standards. The ideal candidate understands utility construction workflows and can confidently identify documentation gaps, technical inconsistencies, and non-conforming packages.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience in one of the following: Gas distribution construction, Utility field inspection, Utility document control, QA/QC within a regulated utility environment
Working knowledge of gas construction documentation, work orders, or as-built processes
Experience reviewing contractor packages or technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Responsibilities

Review contractor field observation reports for accuracy and completeness
Enter and validate documentation within designated utility databases
Review as-constructed sketches for technical conformity with gas distribution standards
Verify mapping alignment and support GIS/as-built processes
Review contractor billing packages prior to approval routing
Ensure compliance with client documentation and records retention requirements
Create and track job requests within the utility system
Support scheduling coordination between internal teams and contractors
Maintain organized electronic and physical project files
Identify documentation discrepancies and escalate appropriately
