About The Position

The Technical Sales Consultant reports to the Manager of LTS Sales and drives LTS sales by providing in-depth technical expertise on the company’s products and services to internal stakeholders and prospective customers. This position delivers sales with thorough technical knowledge and excellent presentation skills, providing accurate quoting and ensuring that customer requirements are fully understood and addressed with tailored solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience in technical sales roles, selling engineering solutions, services, equipment, or related.
  • 60% of travel as required.
  • Thorough understanding of material handling systems and automation technologies; direct knowledge of/experience with TGW portfolio of products preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with customers; excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains thorough, up-to-date knowledge of TGW’s catalog and provides in-depth technical expertise to educate customers on TGW’s product and service offerings.
  • Develops and delivers targeted sales campaigns to meet strategic sales goals.
  • Proactively assesses customer processes and engineering operations to identify opportunities for sales and business growth within existing LTS portfolio.
  • Maintains relationships and liaises with customers to understand their specific needs and challenges and partners with internal sales, realization, and operations teams to develop custom solutions tailored to address such needs.
  • Leads costing, quoting, and contract development activities by serving as subject matter expert on technical offerings.
  • Develops presentations, conducts demonstrations, and delivers technical support as needed throughout cradle-to-grave sales process.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
