About The Position

The Flexicon Corporation, a global leading bulk material handling system manufacturer, has an opening for an energetic, customer-oriented individual to join our technical sales engineering team in Boston, MA. Responsibilities include system design and technical sales of process equipment to various industries, direct response to customer inquiries, and support of field sales personnel. Candidates should have a Mechanical Engineering or similar degree, or sales experience with a technical background. Excellent written & verbal communication skills are essential. Some travel required.

  • Prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, codes, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of and ability to use standard computer applications including, but not limited to MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • 2-year degree (required)
  • 2+ years of technical sales experience

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or similar from an accredited educational institute

Responsibilities

  • Direct response to customer inquiries
  • Evaluation of customer’s material handling project
  • Design material handling system to meet customer needs
  • Determine appropriate pricing and write quotation for the system
  • Follow-up and negotiate with customer to secure order
  • Support of field sales representatives
  • Review and correction of quotations generated by field sales representatives’
  • Providing pricing on custom components of material handling systems
  • Answering field sales representatives’ questions about applications of Flexicon equipment
  • Elements of overall project management
  • Obtaining pricing on equipment not manufactured by Flexicon, for incorporation into material handling systems supplied by Flexicon
  • Obtaining all relevant information to allow Flexicon design engineering, production and controls departments to design and fabricate Flexicon systems
  • Acting as liaison between customers and Flexicon when questions arise during the production of Flexicon material handling systems
  • Traveling to trade shows to support exhibit activity by meeting with potential customer prospects, discussing future projects, recording and qualifying leads for future follow-up
  • Traveling to customer facilities to meet with customers to discuss projects and potentially negotiate the sale of Flexicon equipment
