About The Position

Merrick is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to join a multidisciplinary team of engineering and design personnel serving the Nuclear Services & Technology (NST) Business Unit (BU) in our project office/company headquarters in multiple locations throughout the US and available remotely. This dynamic engineering group specializes in the design of prototype/one-off hot cells, gloveboxes and custom equipment for specialty research equipment and custom-designed, remotely operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
Minimum 18 years of experience
PE License required

Responsibilities

Makes decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and have an important impact on extensive organizational activities
Sets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests.
Regularly works on programs with complex features
Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
Routinely interacts with organizational leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials or other organizations and companies
