About The Position

General Accountability: Reporting to the Production Manager, The Technical Supervisor is accountable for delivering technical guidance and support to technicians, while overseeing and managing their performance. The Tech. Supervisor will be responsible for prioritizing and allocating resources within the Manufacturing area to ensure complete tech support is provided to meet department/plant goals. Manages the monitoring of the molding and assembly equipment, machines, and tools. Troubleshoots equipment downtime issues, processes out of control producing non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues. Identifies areas and means to improve molding and assembly manufacturing processes / equipment and product quality on existing product and processes.

Requirements

  • Technical degrees (Manufacturing, Plastics, Mechanical) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ related work experience in manufacturing role in a high-volume manufacturing environment required. (Experience with medical device manufacturing strongly preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of molding processes (injection, blow, rubber) and equipment setup/troubleshooting( Required).
  • Experience in Injection Molding and understanding of Automation processes is critical to this role (Required).
  • Ability to train and coach others from a technical perspective.
  • Previous experience with managing people required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with preventive maintenance, mold/tooling setup, and robot integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Technical support for the molding and assembly manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Plan and manage resources to support the monthly/quarterly production plan.
  • Co-ordinate/plan and execute the activities with Production / Quality and Maintenance relevant to Scrap Reduction and Material Cost Savings.
  • Partners with Quality and Production to ensure that products are produced in conformance with production specification.
  • Prioritizing and allocating resources within the plant to maximize uptime across all machines.
  • Oversees and co-ordinates current Molding Processes /Modifications/Upgrades.
  • Oversees and co-ordinates current Automation Processes /Modifications/Upgrades.
  • Support the Quality department in equipment and process validation activities.
  • Manage staff in a manner that promotes a high standard of employee performance in a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Supports the introduction of automated manufacturing cells in molding and assembly.
  • Support the divisional engineering group when assistance is required.
  • Evaluate performance of all team members within the tech. support team and develop training plans as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for the entire tech support team.
  • Develop processes to ensure clear hand-offs between shifts.
  • Provides Engineering and technical support with respect to processing (molding), and automation.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, market level, other job-related factors, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
  • Pay Range: 100,000 - 120,000

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours of time within first year
  • Sick - up to 40 hours of time within first year
  • Floating Holiday - up to 8 hours of time within first year
  • Holiday - 10 paid holidays per year, these holidays are selected by the Division
