About The Position

Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide support to all South Florida RCI sites. Provides general handyman work, including light construction.

Requirements

• High school graduate
• Proficient in Microsoft – outlook. – Computer literate
• Familiar with work orders/service tickets software
• Must speak, read and, write English
• Minimum five year of experience in related field and/or activities
• Must be a quick thinker able to examine a problem situation and come up with solutions in a prompt and professional manner.
• Exhibits excellent communication skills with customers, management, office personnel and fellow employees.
• Able to take direction from management and/or our field supervisor.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 55lbs, and occasionally up to 100lbs.
• Must be able to frequently crawl, bend and stoop.
• Must be able to frequently lift and climb a 12 foot ladder.
• Must have mobility and be able to work in multiple South Florida locations. Valid Florida Drivers

Nice To Haves

• Plumbing or electrical certifications a plus
• Spanish speaker desired
• Light construction knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs handyman work for all South Florida locations including but not limited to carpentry, painting, drywall and plaster repair, miscellaneous electrical work, minor plumbing repairs, door and window repair, and repairs to furniture and finishes.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance to include the changing of bulbs, ballast and rewiring of lamps.
• Prepares for special projects as far in advance as possible in order to meet deadlines and target cost
• Insures that complete and accurate records are kept of all maintenance activity, including labor time and material cost.
• Plans estimates, schedules and coordinates work orders to facilitate the efficient completion of requested work.
• Assists with office relocations and office setups for new and lateral hires.
• Assists with the planning of full floor moves and moves from one location to another
• Performs daily inspections and maintenance of office space and furnishings
• Develops a plan of action for major repairs and present it to the Facilities Manager/Maintenance Supervisor for consideration and approval.
• Must be able to have a flexible schedule (nights/weekends) five days a week. Work week will be Monday to Friday
• Travel between all South Florida locations several times a week
• Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; perform regular counts and restocking.
• Perform painting, patching, and surface repairs to maintain building appearance.
• Inspect, repair, and assemble office desks, chairs, and workstation components.
• Complete routine floor and building walkthroughs to identify issues and safety hazards. Early morning building exterior inspections around campus.
• Document findings, create work orders, and report inspection results to management.
