Job Description: The Environmental & Equipment Performance Technician II is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and communicating data related to facility environmental conditions, equipment performance, and compliance metrics. This role supports internal operations and customer audits by maintaining accurate records, performing calibration and maintenance on instruments, and ensuring all measurements meet quality and safety standards. The position requires strong communication skills, physical capability, and proficiency with basic tools and measurement techniques. Schedule: 1st Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, especially during audits and while coordinating with facility and fabrication personnel.
  • Comfort working at heights and in physically demanding environments.
  • Proficiency with basic measurement tools, hand tools, and calibration equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.
  • Ability to wear cleanroom gear, respirators, and PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Reporting Collect and compile data and measurements into spreadsheets for internal use and customer audits.
  • Ensure all measuring instruments used are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations, read tape measures, and use hand tools, drills, and wrenches.
  • Safely climb and maneuver ladders; access catwalks and elevated work areas.
  • Work at heights as required for inspections and equipment assessments.
  • Particle Counts Conduct monthly particle inspections in fabrication facilities (B4, B1, and others), typically over a ten-day period each month.
  • Perform additional particle checks as required in response to unexpected events.
  • Operate a variety of particle measuring devices depending on the testing zone.
  • Monitor pump performance parameters (pressure, vibration, temperature, power consumption) and take action to maintain uptime.
  • Change filters, traps, and other consumables.
  • HEPA Balancing & Laminar Flow Assessment Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM checklists, and repair documentation.
  • Perform reading and balancing of HEPA filters and RAHs in areas F2, F3, and F5 as part of an annual facility-wide process.
  • Climb onto HEPA units using harnesses and lanyards Conduct laminarity readings in F5 and annual HEPA balance assessments using specialized measurement equipment.
  • Stand for extended periods when completing airflow and balance measurements.
  • Perform pressure testing on tunnel doors to verify proper positive pressure levels.
  • Ionizer Emitter Maintenance Clean approximately 275 on-site ionizer emitters every 45 days using IPA swabs (about two days per cycle).
  • Conduct ion calibration semi-annually using a charge plate, typically requiring two days per calibration cycle.
  • Tool Balancing Learn and perform exhaust system balancing at both the fabrication and facility levels using provided meters and training.
  • Balance newly installed fabrication tools and periodically evaluate existing tools to ensure personnel safety and optimal operational performance.
  • Gas Line Certification Assist with particle checking and certifying new gas lines prior to gas introduction.
  • Use ladders, wrenches, and stainless-steel components such as Swagelok and VCR fittings during certification tasks.
