About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily water quality operations across Universal Kids Resort water attractions, water play areas/splash pads, hotel onsite pool and any other assigned water area. Completes daily operations including but not limited to water quality parameter testing/verification, lift station/storm water station troubleshooting and sampling, chemical management, mechanical/electrical preventative and corrective maintenance. Installs, maintains, tests, and troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment including filtration and UV sterilization systems, centrifugal pumps/motors, pool/venue rehab and repairs, plumbing repairs and storm water infrastructure. Responds to and assists in recovery of attractions and water features during operation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs inspections and daily operations by evaluating water conditions, chemical and/or waste for compliance by conducting sampling, performing inspection of equipment, tanks, and processes, evaluates data related to water and/or waste parameters. Manages and coordinates diverse technical support activities conducted through contractors. Provides evaluative field support per Environmental, Health & Safety’s requirements under regulatory and/or corporate policy requirements. Collaborates with health department as directed for regulatory compliance and assists with annual renewal of permits. Supports equipment operation and maintenance of chemical feeders, pumps, motors, UV systems, VFD’s, electrical interfaces/cabinets and all supporting equipment, plumbing repairs, storm water infrastructure, lift station monitoring and repairs for storm/sanitary, tile and pool finish repair, confined space entries while performing work in space, direct read instruments, alarm systems, small combustion engines etc. Maintains proper instrument calibration, operation and establishes and maintains working relationships with equipment vendors for water and waste management equipment. Maintains field-generated and office records, performs data entry, prepares logbooks, procedures, as-built drawings, O&Ms, safety training and ensures work order utilization. Completes PQS qualification of attractions, water play areas/splash pads, hotel pool and any other assigned water area. Creates and completes Maximo work orders and completion reports. Trains new Technicians to do venue-specific preventative maintenance work orders and recovery processes and procedures. Assists with emergency response and incident prevention by inspecting for release controls to include secondary containments, spill equipment, response supplies, erosion control, storm conveyance systems, emergency pumps, and overfill protections. Responds to environmental incidents and takes immediate action to control and/or stop further release related to water, chemicals and/or waste and perform proper cleaning/remediation when necessary. Activates incident response as necessary and in accordance with EHS policy and regulation. Performs modifications of electrical, mechanical and pool/venue systems as prescribed by OEM or engineering team, both internal and third-party specifications and direction. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed. Ensures proper chemical/waste management through proper labeling, handling, application, inspection, storage and disposal of water, aquatic pest control and regulated waste. Ensures water is prepared for proper transport as required. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 5+ years of experience in water quality or related technical services required, previous water attractions or pool technical experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
