About The Position

Citi's Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) for Citi Commercial Bank provides tailored high quality financial solutions for Citi's corporate and commercial bank clients. It offers specialized expertise in Treasury, Cash Management and Trade leveraging a vast network across 30+ countries. CitiDirect® Commercial Banking brings together Citi’s global products and services into a single digital platform, providing clients with a 360° consolidated view of their Citi banking relationship across Cash, Loans, Trade, FX, Servicing and Onboarding/ ‘Know Your Client’ (KYC). To achieve this ambitious objective, we are undergoing a significant transformation guided by a three-pronged strategy: Agile Transformation: Fostering a dynamic and responsive development environment. Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Architecting solutions around core business domains for enhanced scalability and clarity. Microservices Architecture & Cloud Migration: Transitioning to a modern, cloud-native infrastructure for unparalleled flexibility and resilience. We are seeking a visionary Technical Director to head Services Digital Platforms Information Reporting & Search to lead this critical transformation. This highly visible role will define and drive the architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for our digital securities information reporting and search platforms. You will manage multiple high-performing engineering teams, fostering strong partnerships across business units and technology stakeholders to deliver state-of-the-art solutions that empower our corporate clients. A deep understanding of the financial industry, competitive landscape, and commercial objectives is essential to succeed.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership, with a significant focus on large-scale enterprise platforms.
• 8-10+ years of senior managerial experience, leading multiple engineering teams and managing budgets.
• Proven track record of successfully leading major transformations from legacy systems to cloud-native, microservices-based reusable omni channel architectures.
• Foster continous improvement of software development practices and create an environment of innovation at scale.
• Strong expertise in technologies such as Angular/React, Java, SpringBoot, No SQL databases, Relational databases, Rest, JSON.
• Hands-on technical acumen with a problem-solver mindset, capable of diving into technical details to guide teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry, including competitive products and services, with the ability to align technology strategy with commercial objectives.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing change, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance within a regulated environment.
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI technologies.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design principles and implementation.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Vision: Define and champion the long-term architectural vision and roadmap for Digital Reporting Platforms, aligning with the overall TTS technology strategy.
• Platform Modernization: Lead the successful migration of legacy systems to a modern, cloud-native, microservices-based architecture.
• Design & Development Oversight: Drive the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable, and high-quality reporting, analytics, and search solutions.
• Technical Excellence: Instill best practices in software development, architectural patterns, and engineering processes across teams, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and performance.
• Innovation: Research and integrate emerging technologies, including Generative AI and NLP, to enhance platform capabilities and user experience.
• Build & Grow Teams: Lead, mentor, and develop multiple diverse engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Performance Management: Oversee all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, performance evaluations, compensation, and career development.
• Resource Optimization: Structure teams and allocate resources efficiently to maximize impact and align with strategic business objectives.
• Strategic Communication: Prepare and present regular project and team reviews to senior management and business leaders, communicating technical strategy and progress effectively.
• Partnership: Collaborate extensively with product owners, business stakeholders, and other technology leaders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Client Focus: Work closely with end-users to understand their needs and continuously enhance the quality and relevance of deliverables.
• Budget & Planning: Manage the financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for the platform area, contributing to future strategic direction.
• Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Citi's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, driving accountability and transparently managing control issues.
• Operational Resilience: Oversee disaster recovery planning, testing, and approval processes for new applications to ensure continuous service availability.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to defining and implementing departmental best practices and processes, ensuring transparency and consistency.
