As a Technology Engineer within PNC's Mortgage organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, or Birmingham, AL. Overview We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server, .NET/C#, and CI/CD pipelines, along with hands-on experience supporting and enhancing financial applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure the reliability and performance of critical financial systems. Job Description Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives. May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff. Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered. Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes. Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including query optimization, stored procedures, and database design.
  • Solid experience with C#, .NET Framework or .NET Core.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Background in supporting or enhancing financial or transactional applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and enhance existing financial applications used across the organization.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize backend services and components using C# and the .NET framework.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned scripts in SQL Server.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in application upgrades, patching, and deployment activities.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and financial industry best practices.
