About The Position

Infosys is seeking a skilled and experienced EKS Administrator to manage and optimize our Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps practices. As an EKS Administrator, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our EKS clusters, ensuring high availability and performance for our applications. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education At least 4 years of Information Technology experience. The candidate must be located within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC or willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations. Expert on JBOSS, Unix, Tomcat, Websphere, Methode, and Pega technologies. Proficient in Shell scripting and automation. -Knowledge of server security, backup procedures, and disaster recovery operations. -Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. -Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team. Proficiency in Kubernetes and containerization technologies (Docker). Strong understanding of AWS services, including VPC, EC Middleware Admin- -Install, configure, update, and maintain JBOSS, Tomcat, Websphere, Methode, and Pega systems on Unix platforms. Monitor server performance and provide optimization solutions. Preferred Skills: Develop and maintain Shell scripts for system routine tasks and automation. Handle server-related tickets and troubleshoot server issues related to these technologies. Strong understanding of Unix server architecture and networking. Implement server security measures, manage server backups, and perform disaster recovery operations. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure server infrastructure aligns with business goals. Document server processes, configurations, and maintenance tasks. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. -Certifications in AWS cloud, Unix, Tomcat, Websphere, Methode or Pega would be a plus. Key Responsibilities: Cluster Management: Deploy, configure, and manage Amazon EKS clusters. Monitoring and Logging: Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions for EKS clusters using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch. Security: Ensure the security of the EKS clusters by configuring IAM roles, security groups, network policies, and implementing best practices for securing containers and Kubernetes resources. CI/CD Integration: Integrate EKS with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline. Automation: Automate the provisioning, scaling, and management of EKS clusters using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of EKS clusters and applications running on them. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with EKS clusters, including networking, storage, and container runtime issues. Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute upgrades and maintenance activities for EKS clusters and associated components. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the EKS infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
