About The Position

TEKsystems Inc. is actively seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Telecommunications Technician to support projects across the Greater Nashville area. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in low‑voltage and structured cabling environments while working with an industry‑leading organization. The role offers strong potential for extension or long‑term placement.
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing and supporting telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge or hands‑on experience with cabling or low‑voltage systems
• Familiarity with routers, switches, and structured cabling environments
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with VoIP or PBX systems
• Technical certifications

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications and low‑voltage systems
• Pull, terminate, and test Cat5 and Cat6 cabling
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Assist with installation of CCTV, access control, and security systems
• Configure and support basic telecom/network devices
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
• Follow all safety guidelines and industry best practices
• Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines
