POSITION SUMMARY: The Telecom Technician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Regular attendance at assigned location; may include A/Z office or other project site; Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring. Installs cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials Oversees or participates in data cable installations, open wiring, with conduit and on cable trays; Installs relays racks, cabinets, network switches. Install cable trays above and below floors Ability to work in confined spaces. Terminates data, voice, coaxial, control and fiber optic cables. Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with cable analyzer. Perform other routine duties as directed by workplace leader, Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and quality; Participate in site housekeeping; Additional duties as directed by management.
