About The Position

The Curriculum Developer partners with faculty and subject matter experts to transform ideas, expertise, and existing materials into engaging, well-structured learning experiences. This role plays a key part in designing clear, interactive curriculum that supports student success in online and blended environments. Using Canvas LMS and authoring tools such as Articulate Rise 360, the Curriculum Developer builds organized course modules, develops instructional content, and ensures courses align with established learning outcomes and best practices in instructional design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience developing curriculum, training programs, or educational content.
  • Experience building and organizing courses in Canvas.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure content into clear learning modules aligned with outcomes.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with educational technology tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Articulate Rise 360 or comparable e-learning authoring platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing materials, outlines, and subject matter to design structured, outcome-aligned curriculum.
  • Develop course modules, lessons, assignments, and assessments that support defined learning objectives.
  • Build and organize courses within Canvas to create a clear, consistent, and engaging student experience.
  • Develop interactive learning content using Articulate Rise 360 or similar authoring platforms.
  • Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to translate course concepts into effective learning experiences.
  • Recommend improvements to course structure, flow, engagement strategies, and accessibility.
  • Apply best practices in online and hybrid instructional design.
  • Update course materials and structure as programs evolve.
  • Ensure content remains accurate, accessible, and easy for students to navigate.
  • Assist instructors with course setup and preparation prior to each term.
  • Partner with academic departments to support new program and course development initiatives.
  • Translate complex subject matter into student-centered content and learning activities.
  • Provide guidance on effective use of Canvas and related educational technology tools.
