Position Summary Dinnerware Forming Generalists are responsible for the safe and efficient forming of dinnerware using a variety of machines and techniques. Depending on the item, forming may be done using a RAM press, SKK plate roller, SKK bowl roller, vintage bowl machine, or mug machine. This role also includes responsibilities in kiln firing and water waste treatment.

  • Regular lifting of molds (10–25 lbs); up to 1,000+ pieces formed daily
  • Frequent lifting of clay (20–30 lbs) and transferring to and from work surfaces
  • Repetitive hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder motions
  • Use of pallet jack to transport molds
  • Regular standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and other physical activity required in a production environment
  • Must have close vision, depth perception, and field vision to inspect materials, operate equipment safely, detect small defects, read measurements, and assess product quality and machinery accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forming machines (RAM press, SKK plate/bowl rollers, bowl and mug machines) safely and efficiently
  • Understand and follow specific forming and handling requirements for each item
  • Load, unload, and clean mold sets
  • Organize and load finished ware onto carts
  • Inspect finished ware for quality issues and report problems promptly
  • Assist with finish firing using manual gas kilns
  • Perform water waste treatment tasks as needed
