About The Position

In this position, you will get to provide technical support to New Product Development and Technical Investigation projects. You will perform extrusion, compounding, testing and sample preparation in collaboration with and guidance from materials team members and other functional teams. Additionally, you will assist engineers with resolution of technical issues, build prototypes, and perform electrical & mechanical tests according to provided test plans. You will provide feedback to engineers and the development team, maintain laboratory space to environmental and safety standards, and support/maintain the control, calibration and inspection of test and measurement equipment. Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical testing equipment will also be part of your responsibilities. You will identify, implement, and maintain dashboards, test/data-logging/analysis automation systems for improving efficiency and collaboration, write SOPs, work instructions, and technical reports, cross train team members, and assist with obtaining agency certification testing.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent technical training
  • 0-3 years of industrial technical experience
  • Interest and capability to perform electrical/mechanical testing
  • Hands-on R&D experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while independently conducting tests with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow safety, personnel protection protocols; and lead safety related programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lab-based hands-on experience on polymeric materials (compounding, extrusion, and testing)
  • Working knowledge in polymers/metals/electronics/electrical
