About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Grounds Maintenance team! This is a temporary position on our summer grounds crew at the Home Office main campus. This position will include the following job duties: General grounds work including mowing, trimming, pruning, mulching, watering, and litter removal. Operating equipment including zero turn mowers and other landscaping equipment. Irrigation work including fixing and adjusting sprinkler heads, digging and replacing pipe lines, investigating and solving watering issues. Maintenance of fleet vehicles including washing, detailing and transporting to maintenance appointments. Equipment maintenance including changing oil, sharpening blades, greasing as necessary. Shop maintenance including general cleaning, painting, parts acquisition. The successful candidate will possess these characteristics : Dependability Great attitude Team player (working relationships) Self-starter Good work ethic Strong focus on outstanding attendance and punctuality Adequate physical endurance and mechanical ability necessary to perform the job, including repeated lifting of approximately 50 pounds

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Communicate in a positive and effective manner.
• Satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work independently, remotely and with minimal supervision.
• Be flexible for necessary schedule changes.
• Experience with hand held tools.
