Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno is looking for a temporary administrative support member for our research groups at our Stead facility. This position will provide human resource and compliance support to the director and research faculty.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative support, office coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, track processes, and main-tain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace), including spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personnel information with professional-ism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting human resources processes, such as onboarding, time tracking, or student employee coordination.
  • Familiarity with safety or compliance tracking in laboratory, academic, or regulated environments.
  • Experience coordinating meetings or events, including scheduling, logistics, and itinerary preparation.
  • Experience working in a university, research, or technical office setting.
  • Knowledge of institutional HR or timekeeping systems.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an onboarding process for incoming student workers, LOAs, and other employees.
  • Track and approve student employee work hours.
  • Track and document safety compliance based on EHS requirements, assist with scheduling lab walkthroughs.
  • Assist the director with scheduling meetings, preparing hosting, and creating itineraries.
  • Answer phones, assist guests, and perform data entry tasks.
