About The Position

HH Red Stone is seeking a Temporary Maintenance Technician to support property operations in New Haven, CT during an employee medical leave. This role will assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the community. This position is expected to run approximately March through May 2026, with the potential for extension depending on operational needs. The Temporary Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks within residential units and common areas. This role works closely with the property management team to respond to maintenance requests, support preventative maintenance efforts, and help maintain a high standard of property operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and property staff.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, and appliance troubleshooting.
  • Repair or replace fixtures such as faucets, pipes, toilets, garbage disposals, and lighting.
  • Complete minor electrical repairs including switches, outlets, ceiling lights, and ceiling fans.
  • Repair and maintain household appliances including refrigerators, stoves, and washers.
  • Patch drywall and perform minor wall repairs.
  • Conduct interior painting and touch-ups during apartment turnovers.
  • Assist with preparing units for new residents.
  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems including HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, and smoke detectors.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to ensure systems remain operational.
  • Ensure property safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Install and maintain locks and other security hardware.
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance workspaces and equipment.
