The School of Engineering includes seven academic departments and 10 engineering majors, offering exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. Appointments may be made in one or more engineering departments based on the candidate’s expertise and interests. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering ( CEE ) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering. However, outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor level will be considered. Structural Engineering : Candidates from all fields of structural engineering are encouraged to apply. Candidates with expertise in innovative and smart materials for infrastructure/structural applications, resilient structures and materials, the integration of AI/ML in structural optimization, digital twin technology, advanced computational mechanics, and additive manufacturing in structural engineering are of particular interest. The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong research program, contribute to existing and developing new teaching and training programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and provide service to the department, the school, and the university. About Civil and Environmental Engineering Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rutgers-New Brunswick is a premier engineering program featuring state-of-the-art laboratories, ABET accreditation, and strong ties to state and regional agencies and industry. The department conducts research across a range of focused areas that encompass the field of civil and environmental engineering, including sustainable and smart infrastructure, new geotechnical infrastructure systems, construction automation, high-performance building systems, and environmental sustainability and impact analyses. Our faculty members represent a richness of talent, curiosity, and vision. Students are active participants in exciting discovery and innovation. CEE houses state-of-the-art laboratories in Richard Weeks Hall of Engineering in all areas of civil and environmental engineering. The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation ( CAIT ) is affiliated with the CEE Department.
