The Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Daytona Beach, invites applications for an open-rank faculty position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) focused on: 1) next-generation terrestrial aerospace infrastructure, and 2) space infrastructure and extraterrestrial construction. This strategic hire advances ERAU’s mission to lead innovation in aerospace, space infrastructure, and engineering solutions for off-planet environments and aviation/aerospace infrastructure needs at home. The successful candidate will contribute to research and education supporting next-generation space structures, lunar and planetary infrastructure, and construction technologies for extreme environments, aligned with NASA’s Moon-to-Mars architecture, DARPA’s 10-Year Lunar Architecture, and the future of human space exploration. About the Department of Civil Engineering: Established in 1994, the Department of Civil Engineering has 13 full-time faculty, an enrollment of 96 full-time students, and offers Bachelor and Master degrees. The Civil Engineering Department offers four well-supported tracks, namely transportation, structures, geotechnical, and Environmental Sustainability & Resilience, with corresponding laboratory facilities. The College of Engineering empowers students to become engineering leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
