Summary: The Terminal Operator will be responsible for a variety of work assignments across the Nederland Terminal.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Process Operations Technology preferred.
  • Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations and have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone/radio communications.
  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires on-call availability at all hours.
  • Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Process Operations Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to train, qualify and relieve as a rail operator, dockworker, bunker operator, “C” operator and perform maintenance duties as directed.
  • Required to fill vacancies when qualified in multiply job classifications.
  • Normally works a floating, rotating shift and the assigned shift is routinely subject to change.
  • The employee is expected to work overtime and will be subject to call out.
  • Must perform work assignments safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather and be able to climb stairs, ladders and gangways.
  • Must be able to learn API and marine procedures regarding measurement and sampling
