About The Position

This position will support the Replacement Measurement Program (RMP) for Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS) Construction & Test. The RMP team is a unique group tasked with understanding specific design requirements critical to overall function of the platform. The position requires communication with all levels of management, employees within and outside the department, and other departments across the company as well as government and industry partners externally. Overtime and travel will be required as necessary to support the business or program needs. The successful candidate using combinations of the latest technologies and conventional methods of measurement will support the COLUMBIA/Dreadnought and OHIO/VANGUARD programs including their support facilities in the development and execution of various test procedures. Additional opportunities may include work in developmental programs beyond the listed classes of ships. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Analysis of test data Issuing of reports Develop innovative procedures to validate design requirements Support shipyard construction precision measurement efforts Working independently in a fast paced environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-5 years of test experience
  • Proficient MS Office
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Presenting and Public Communication Skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills as well as the demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and integrate a wide range of personnel
  • Must be confident in communicating and working with management as well as customer and foreign participants
  • Must be reliable, possess a strong team orientation, be customer focused, and have a desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to coordinate internal and external meetings including invites, reservation of proper conference room, set up, supportive documents, ordering refreshments, and other supporting tasks as required
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under stressful situations
  • A desire to learn and grow in the position

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CITIS and/or SWSNET
  • Experience with Technical Writing
  • CAD experience
  • IPDE Tools Experience
  • Familiarity with GD&T and understanding ship construction drawings
  • Familiarity with laser trackers and associated technology
  • Familiarity with SWS Coordination Drawings and interfaces
