ASTROS has a wide range of skilled Engineers. A proven leader is needed to manage our diverse and talented team. The team of Engineers are spread out throughout the AFRL and they support multiple test areas and disciplines.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Technical Writing ability
  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
  • Must be able to work at heights and depths
  • Work overtime with little notification
  • Must be able to work in extreme hear and extreme cold
  • Must be licensed and able to drive an ASTROS leased car
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance required
  • Familiar with Test Software.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work with ASTROS Project Managers and stay abreast of work assigned to the staff of Engineers and ensure completion and ensure there is timely status updates on work performed and key information needed to ensure success.
  • Work directly with multiple engineers in multiple programs, and offer technical guidance and mentorship
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers, and lead technical meetings with customers and vendors
  • Review current site engineering standards, implement changes to ensure compliance with ASME Y14.100 engineering drawing practices
  • Serve as part of the ASTROS Management team and ensure the Contract Program Manager is provided status on work performed.
  • Meet with customers and determine workloads and shift resources when needed and submit requisitions for new Engineers as needed.
  • Provide routine feedback to entire engineering team.
  • Perform annual reviews
  • Develop relationships with the engineering team and create a strong team environment
  • Work independently and communicate progress.
  • Supervise a cross disciplined team of Test Engineers in support of the AFRL
  • Work with projects by ensuring staff are performing up to expectations
  • Support various projects in both technical and managerial roles.
  • Ensure the engineering team are creating and reviewing Work Authorizations for technicians to complete work assignments
  • Provide routine briefings to Operations, Safety and to the Site Scheduler.
  • Assist in supporting senior leadership during a test readiness review prior to receiving customer’s permission to test
  • Must be able to gain access to the customer’s computer networks
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
