About The Position

The Test Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tests on computer server hardware and components to ensure quality and functionality before shipment. This role involves following detailed procedures, documenting results, and identifying and reporting any issues encountered during the testing process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electronics, IT) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment, preferably with computer hardware.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware components and their functions (e.g., CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, network cards).
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and basic command-line operations.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 30 lbs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standardized test procedures on server systems, motherboards, memory, CPUs, and other related hardware.
  • Configure test environments, including installing operating systems and relevant software applications.
  • Monitor test processes and analyze diagnostic outputs to identify anomalies or failures.
  • Accurately record test results, observations, and any deviations from expected outcomes in designated systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues encountered during testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to report and resolve identified defects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment as required.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality control standards and company policies.
