A DAY IN THE LIFE: As a Test Technician II , you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of products developed for public release. You’ll conduct functional and performance testing, troubleshoot production units and customer RMAs, and collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve test processes. Working with moderate autonomy, you’ll analyze data, document findings, and help drive continuous improvement across our production and development efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a production test technician, product tester, or similar role.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute written test procedures and technical work instructions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience writing discrepancy reports and analyzing technical documentation.
  • Ability to work with numerical data and testing metrics accurately.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting with moderate autonomy.
  • Comfortable working with industry-standard testing equipment and software tools.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting: Applying foundational electrical knowledge and appropriate testing methods to perform functional and performance testing, diagnose issues, and verify corrective actions.
  • Analytical Thinking & Technical Documentation: Interpreting test data, identifying discrepancies, and producing clear, accurate reports and discrepancy documentation to support quality and traceability
  • Independent Execution & Accountability: Managing testing activities with moderate autonomy, executing written procedures precisely, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Standards Compliance & Equipment Proficiency: Operating industry-standard test equipment and software while adhering to IPC (IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620), ESD, FOD, hazardous material handling, and calibration requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional & Performance Testing: Test products for safety, compliance, capacity, and performance, executing written test procedures and work instructions with accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze & Document Test Results: Compile detailed reports on findings, analyze test data to identify potential issues, and generate discrepancy reports to support corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot & Repair Products: Perform troubleshooting, repair, and re-testing of production units and customer RMAs with moderate autonomy, identifying root causes and verifying corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Management: Discuss findings with engineers and team members, provide technical feedback and recommendations, and consult with management regarding testing and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Support Test Process Improvements: Assist in implementing updates to testing protocols and procedures, and participate in test plan development and execution when required.
  • Maintain Lab & Equipment Standards: Maintain laboratory equipment and test stations, ensuring compliance with hazardous material handling, ESD, FOD prevention programs, and calibration requirements.
  • Examine Product Components: Investigate specific assemblies or components to isolate defects and verify product integrity across development and production stages.
  • Support Continuous Operations: Perform additional duties as assigned to support production schedules and quality objectives.
