Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Health and Wellness , Human Services, Education, or related field
  • Either two (2) years of direct health care employment experience or three (3) years in a similar service, such as professional care giving, adult case management, education and/or training.
  • Must have two years experience leading staff/ teams in providing human health services to an establish clientele.
  • Requires knowledge of current health and wellness techniques, leadership skills and abilities, staff training and development, and providing technical assistance using a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills and an ability to form relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, technical assistance, and staff development to Therapeutic Recreation Service Line staff.
  • Evaluate service administration and recommend appropriate responses to ensure compliance with established goals, policies and practices
  • Evaluate service delivery of service line programs, conduct file reviews, and coordinate quality assurance with the Therapeutic Recreation Service Director.
  • Conduct employee orientation and training as assigned.
  • Plan, design and implement annual staff and service development training and in services for the growth, development and enhancement of program services.
  • Prepare reports, applications and supporting documentation as requested by the supervisor within timelines established.
  • Promote and advocate for Therapeutic Recreation Service Line Programs both internally and externally.
  • Provide TR interventions to assigned caseload in a timely basis following policy and procedures.
  • Ability to travel across the State as assigned to meet essential job responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
