About The Position

BAMSI has been “bringing people and services together” since 1975. Through the Parent Information Network (PIN), we support youth, Transition‑Age Youth (TAY), and families living with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Our Flexible Support Services program uses the wraparound model to deliver family‑driven, strength‑based supports that empower young people to build resilience, independence, and long‑term stability.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required
  • One or more years of experience working with youth/TAY with emotional or mental health challenges
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Understanding of mental health, trauma, domestic violence, substance use, and family systems
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and professional writing skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing to transport youth/families in personal vehicle
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time within the BAMSI region
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Wraparound model preferred
  • Familiarity with state agencies (DMH, DCF, DDS, DYS, DOE) and CBHI services (ICC, IHT, TM, ABA, FS&T) desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and group support services to youth/TAY with serious emotional disturbance (SED), helping them develop social skills, independent living skills, self‑care skills, and community integration.
  • Support youth/TAY with visioning, goal‑setting, and futures planning
  • Implement and monitor individualized action plans and treatment interventions
  • Facilitate activities that build family functioning, peer relationships, boundaries, and community navigation
  • Teach daily living skills such as budgeting, banking, self‑care, transportation use, and vocational exploration
  • Provide structured recreational, social, and resilience‑building activities
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Clinician, Parent/Caregiver, and treatment providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Support crisis planning and respond to youth needs during crisis situations
  • Participate in wraparound meetings, problem‑solving strategies, and safety plan development
  • Advocate for youth/TAY to ensure supports are strengths‑based and culturally responsive
  • Record progress notes, outcomes data, action plans, and other required documentation
  • Utilize youth self‑assessment data to guide goal‑setting and transition planning
  • Transport youth/TAY to appointments, activities, and community engagements
  • Participate in weekly supervision, monthly consultation, and behavior rehearsals
  • Perform duties consistent with DMH and BAMSI policies, including safety protocols
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
