About The Position

Our ideal candidate should have previous experience as a Tire technician. The Tire Mechanic will be DOT Certified. We are looking for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. Responsible for repairing, replacing, and maintaining tires on all DOT Equipment Job Duties will include but not limited to: Preventative maintenance and repair all Tires on Semi-Trailers to meet the standards set forth by DOT Install new tires and wheels Perform maintenance on tires, Including rotation, balancing repairs and cleaning Repair tires Remove and replace hubs Clean up work area at the end of shift Keep work areas neat and orderly Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions Organizing materials to have more effective use of space Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed Qualifications DOT certifications Must pass a medical physical, drug screen and background check Must be punctual and good attendance required for this position Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands Diesel Mechanic school or certification a plus Job Expectations Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures. Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members. Physical Requirements Work Environment: Scrap yard, large equipment metal processing area Equipment & Tools: Yard equipment, electrical Safety equipment, hand tools, and PPE specialized for electricians.
