About The Position

This position supports Fleet Operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform tire service and repair work, basic general service functions on company trucks, and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience as a productive and meaningful member of a commercial team
  • Prefer one year of previous experience as a Tire Technician
  • Need to understand the importance of scheduling equipment for servicing.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position.
  • Must be familiar with record keeping as it pertains to tire maintenance and D.O.T. regulations.
  • Must understand their own limitations and know when to ask for help.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team, including those holding divergent and/or opposing views and goals.
  • Is always courteous and professional to team members both inside and outside of the Company.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to change.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and with confidence to handle many challenges.
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.
  • Flexibility to changing work conditions, assignments, and schedules.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment.
  • Must have experience working on equipment that operates in harsh environments.
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions (heat and cold); time is in the shop and outdoor environment.
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs. with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations

Responsibilities

  • Install new tires and wheels on trailer and diesel trucks.
  • Perform maintenance on tires, including rotations, balancing, repairs, and cleaning.
  • Develop a system for determining equipment tire needs, reducing progressive maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance duties in the shop, yard, field and roadside on service calls.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced consistent high-volume environment
  • Dependability in attendance is required.
  • Assist in tracking logs and maintaining asset management files.
  • Assist in working with an inventory minimum and maximum.
  • Repair, replace, mount and balance commercial tires (Tire Service).
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor or Operation Manager
  • Experience with heavy duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
  • Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocol, including wearing of all PPE.
  • Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
