Responsibilities of the Title IX and Title VI Coordinator: 1. Serve as the institution’s subject-matter expert on all applicable sexual misconduct and civil rights laws and regulations. 2. Review and assess all complaints of sexual misconduct and protected-class discrimination to determine whether investigation of the complaint is warranted. Where investigation is appropriate, coordinate and manage all aspects of the investigation and adjudication, including coordinating with the parties, external advisors, support persons, investigators, and hearing/appellate officers. 3. Together with the Associate Vice President, develop and refine office practices and procedures so that campus partners and university constituents receive the highest level of compliance services in high-risk areas. 4. Work closely and collaboratively with the offices of student affairs, intercollegiate athletics, human resources, the provost, and the general counsel on sensitive matters related to student, faculty, and employee relations. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide variety of TU officials to facilitate trust and collaboration and engender a positive campus environment. 5. Develop and implement educational programs that meet or exceed the university’s obligations under Title IX, Title VI, and related federal and state laws. 6. Support reporting obligations to external parties, including Clery reporting, USM reporting requirements, and other obligations under applicable state and federal law.
