About The Position

An amazing repeat client living in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a career nanny for their 14-month-old daughter. The role will be 50-55 hours per week until September, when the child starts school, after which it will reduce to 40 hours per week. This family travels and needs someone who is comfortable doing so.

Requirements

  • Flexibility with the schedule- ability to stay late 2-3 nights per week
  • Willing to minimize your own screen time when spending time with the child
  • Willing to defer to parents even if you disagree with them
  • Recent toddler experience
  • Ability as well as eagerness to travel both domestically and internationally

Nice To Haves

  • Education degree preferred
  • Prior experience in a similar role with same aged children
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Family wants a nanny for the long term, so ideally a candidate who is a career nanny and enjoys being one
  • Clean, tidy, leaving a small footprint, respectful of house rules and family’s privacy
  • flexibility to work over-time if needed
  • Both parents will be in and out throughout the day, so the you should be comfortable interacting with them and working as a team

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of full-charge childcare for a 14-month-old girl with a strong emphasis on safety, attentiveness, and structure
  • Adherence to parental preferences and routines
  • Child-related housekeeping, laundry, toy sanitation, and organization
  • Provide engaging hands-on childcare with no personal phone use while on duty
  • Meal planning and prep, including snacks
  • Planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, play-dates, and outings
  • Support developmental milestones
  • Travel planning prep
  • Pack/unpack
  • Travel domestically and internationally
  • Help facilitate parents bonding with the child and know when to step in and out (i.e., when parents are home and spending time with the child, take this time to prepare childs meal or finish laundry)
  • Responsibilities will evolve as the child grows, and the candidate should be able to evolve with them- as the child goes to school, be ok with taking on new responsibilities- errands, laundry, meal prep.
  • Stay late 2-3 days per week
