Job Summary The Toolmaker is responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing operations. This role requires exceptional machining skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings. The Toolmaker ensures tooling is produced to exact specifications, supports production efficiency, and contributes to continuous improvement across the facility. Key Responsibilities Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications. Set up and operate manual and CNC machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, EDM machines, and surface grinders. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to ensure tight tolerances. Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling issues affecting production; implement corrective actions or improvements. Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure tooling supports manufacturing goals. Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to reduce downtime and extend tool life. Document tooling changes, repairs, and revisions in accordance with company standards. Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
