About The Position

The primary responsibility of the position is to manage the Tool and Die program, which includes the supervision of personnel, project management, new product development and provide all necessary interdepartmental communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or applicable manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge and utilization of CAD/3-D modeling software a must
  • Ability to sketch, read, and interpret part and machinery drawings
  • 7+ years' experience in mechanical design and process development preferred
  • Experience in use of lean manufacturing a plus
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3‐6 month time span
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Supervision or team management experience
  • Ability to build and manage effective working relationships
  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment
  • Product development experience
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stress
  • Solid decision-making skills

  • Experience in use of lean manufacturing a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and focus resources to achieve on-time and on-budget completion
  • Direct supervision of daily Tool and Die activities and personnel
  • Timely and accurate communication of project activities and status
  • Design new products, direct product improvements and product customization
  • Design, model and produce test prototypes for production
  • Evaluate tool performance and develop production standards
  • Produce final drawings, and determine specifications and procedures for implementation
  • Perform engineering, quality, and cost analysis of designs & prototypes
  • Tool and die design, improvement, and refurbishment
  • CNC experience in programming
