About The Position

SUMMARY inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for associates. Other duties may be assigned. Inventory, order, and maintain adequate supplies of welding consumables. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or request repairs as needed. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. Issue NAVSEA weld wire per procedure. All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of fabrication and tools.
  • Minimum of three years of welding experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment successfully
  • Must perform tasks safely as instructed orally and in written format
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Must have knowledge of the metric system
  • Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to read measuring tape and calipers
  • High school diploma or GED required; three years related experience.
  • Forklift Certification
  • Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from meters, dials, calibrated scales, visual display units. Ability to receive and understand instructions via radio or phone. Ability to summarize verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and analyze written basic numerical information; use ruler, scales and other physical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to follow instructions, in a logical order, given in oral, written, or diagram form. Ability to apply quality standards against product and determine if defective and degree of defect. Ability to compile gathered information. Ability to solve practical problems with common sense.
