The Specialty Equipment segment includes Anderson Dahlen, located in Ramsey, MN, and Waconia, MN. Anderson Dahlen delivers end-to-end equipment design-build and contract manufacturing, with precision fabrication – cutting, forming, machining, welding, finishing, and complex assemblies – backed by engineering, integration, and complete process solutions including skids and sanitary platforms tailored to customer applications. Anderson Dahlen is ISO 9001:2015 certified, as well as ASME, AWS, and PED compliant. The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $25-$35/hour. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: Responsible for assisting with the production process in the machining department. Inventory and stocking of the tool crib. Breaking down and setting up tooling for the machining centers. Moves carts and dollies with items on them. Assists in cleanup.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience working in a machine shop tool room and/or good working knowledge of CNC machining and tooling highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Degree in machining preferred, currently enrolled in machining courses is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain tooling lists for actively used machine programs.
  • Set up necessary tooling for machinists prior to machining operations.
  • Tear down, inspect, and place used tooling in the appropriate locations.
  • Stock good quality tooling back into the replenishment system.
  • Perform inventory checks on replenishable tooling on a routine basis.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and functional tool room and storage system in accordance with proper 5S practices.
  • Implement and maintain 5S projects in the tool room and machine shop.
  • Work with programmers and Shift Supervisor to troubleshoot tooling issues and provide technical support to machinists as needed.
  • Work with programmers and tool room coordinator to test potential tooling upgrades and new technology.
  • Observe safe work practices.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good housekeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of, or the desire to learn the machine shop environment and tooling needs.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Xcel, Word, and Outlook
  • Other duties as assigned.
