About The Position

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical support to all areas of manufacturing at the Moen Sanford facility. Perform maintenance tasks necessary to ensure a safe and productive environment. Read and analyze drawings containing assemblies, sub-assemblies, and details. Read and interpret GD&T information on drawings. Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems such as injection molds. Assist engineering and production teams to develop permanent corrective actions. Utilize computer aided design equipment and/or Creo, Auto CAD software to generate CNC toolpaths for creating or repairing injection molds. Capable of welding with TIG or Laser under a microscope for shutoffs and parting lines, then machine them back to print dimensions. Capable of fitting shut offs for injection molds. Program and operate CNC style Tool Room equipment, as well as manual equipment. Capable of producing complex parts from detail drawings in a timely manner. Capable of removing and repairing injection mold hot runner manifolds without damage. Capable of pulling and installing different brand valve gates. Design and construct highly intricate tools, fixtures, dies, and gauges to close tolerances. Lubricant and perform scheduled maintenance on machining equipment. Communicate with manufacturing supervision, engineering, maintenance department, operators, and other technicians to resolve process and equipment issues. Present information on status of ongoing projects at KPI or other meetings Develop and implement training procedures on the proper operation of equipment. Perform every job to quality standards while maintaining neat and orderly work areas. Collect and analyze data for problem solving, then recommend solutions. Work different shifts and overtime as necessary for training and troubleshooting. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or a G.E.D.
  • 8+ years’ experience designing, building, repairing injection molds and machinery.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses and maintenance.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical skills
  • Ability to understand schematics/blueprints and utilize sketches or instructions to construct tools, gauges, fixtures, and replacement parts.
  • Capable of disassembling, assembling, and adjusting all types of machines and injection molds
  • Experience with pneumatic systems
  • Experience with hydraulic systems
  • Excellent verbal and media communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Skilled with MS Office, Excel, and Word
  • No write-ups as outlined in the Job Opportunity policy
  • No disciplinary write-ups in the last 6 months
  • Can not have less than 17 hours of unpaid time under the attendance policy
  • Skilled with arithmetic and basic trigonometry

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical degree in related field
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Maker
  • Knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, and statistics
  • Skilled with AutoCAD 2D and Creo 3D software.
  • Skilled with Pro-Manufacture, Master-Cam, or Gibbs software.
  • Skilled with checking drawings/models in/out of Wind-chill CAD vault
  • Experience with designing and manufacturing of assembly equipment
  • Experience with designing injection molds
  • Experience with wire and sinker style E.D.M. machines
  • Willing to travel when necessary.

  • A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70,740 USD - $82,368 USD.
