Responsibilities

  • Digital Tool Data Management Create, update, and maintain accurate digital tool records for CNC programmers (e.g., tool geometry, holder data, assembly configurations). Ensure digital tool libraries remain standardized and aligned with shop practices. Collaborate with CNC programmers to verify tool specifications and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Tool Assembly & Preparation Assemble complete tool setups according to documentation, prints, and programmer instructions. Inspect tools, holders, and cutting components to verify function and readiness prior to delivery to machinists. Perform basic tool presetting tasks such as length and diameter measurements. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety in the tool room and tooling workstations.
  • Inventory Control & Tool Room Maintenance Track and manage tooling inventory including cutters, holders, inserts, collets, hardware, and fixtures. Monitor stock levels and notify purchasing or supervisors when replenishment is required. Organize and label tooling, components, and storage areas for efficient access and workflow. Conduct regular checks to identify and remove damaged or worn tools from circulation.
  • Raw Material Handling Receive, inspect, and label incoming raw materials such as metals, plastics, and stock shapes. Store materials in designated areas and update inventory systems accordingly. Stage materials for machinists and upcoming jobs as directed.
  • Cross‑Functional Shop Support Assist machinists, programmers, and supervisors with tooling or setup needs during peak demand periods. Support shop operations by performing basic tasks such as staging work, moving parts, or light equipment cleaning. Communicate proactively with team members to maintain smooth and continuous production flow.
