Tool Room Supervisor

About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

Good communication and people skills
Business College Degree or equivalent; or minimum of five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work with mathematical concepts
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Computer Technical Skills
Ability to stand continuously for 8 – 12 hours.
Ability to work in tight places
Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.
Ability to stand, crouch and climb
Ability to use ladders to perform various types of manual labor.
Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blue prints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.

Responsibilities

Directing and prioritizing work within the tool room, across a wide range of talents/personalities
Interactions required with engineering on the design/requirements of specialty parts/projects, die design, etc.
Coordination required with production and maintenance to keep the plant running efficiently
Machine repairs
Projects
Improvements
Prioritizing die repairs/rework required
Ordering punches/die buttons/bushings, etc.
Working with engineering on die drawings, modifications, etc.
Manages subordinate supervisors
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his department
Supervises all employees
Hiring, interviewing and training of all employees
Responsible for the ordering and maintaining supplies needed for all aspects of production
