Job Responsibilities: The Tooling Engineer is responsible for managing & coordinating new model launch tooling from concept through mass production of program life & service requirements. The Tool Engineer will support the production business units and provide subject matter expert skills for the betterment of safety, quality, and costing measurables. They will utilize existing guidelines and standards to develop specifications for the redesign, repair or replacement of production equipment and tooling. This position will coordinate activities focused on technical development, feasibility, scheduling, implementation, Engineering change management and resolving production non-conformances with the supply base. Committed involvement with continuous tool, die and mechanical improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent certification from a four-year college or technical school or ten years’ experience in applicable role
  • Journeyman card in tool and die qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Automotive process and stamping tooling experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience liaising with outside vendors
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project Planner)
  • Operational knowledge of ISO/TS16949 Core Tools
  • Operational knowledge of AIAG industry standards
  • Proficiency in Metallurgy of steel & applications
  • Ability to interpret simulation software’s (AutoForm, Dynaform, PamStamp)
  • Proficiency in modeling software AutoCAD, CATIA, Teamcenter
  • Proficiency of GD&T & Blueprints
  • Operate standard office equipment
